Rick Aguirre
Rick Aguirre graduated from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine with honors and has been a practicing acupuncturist in the central Ohio area since obtaining his license in 2013. He is currently enrolled in the Won Institute of Graduate Studies to obtain his certification in Chinese herbs. Originally a psychology major, Rick was introduced to Chinese medicine by a friend when he sustained an injury to his knee and then his rotator cuff both of which were resolved with the use of acupuncture, cupping and moxabustion. He also found that these modalities were remarkably effective in addressing a broad range of psychological conditions in addition to physiological disorders. He favors an integrative approach to healing and welcomes the opportunity to work in tandem with any and all of his patient’s health care providers.
Rick enjoys leading an active lifestyle and is happiest when spending time with friends and family. His passion for artistic expression, both of his own and of others, is only surpassed by his desire to be of aid to those in need. He enjoys writing, playing sports more than watching them (unless it is Ohio State football), woodworking and growing vegetables (when he can get them in the ground early enough in the season). Laughter is his favorite remedy and he likes sharing it with those around him often. Rick feels a deep and undeniable calling to do the work he does and looks forward to each day knowing that it holds the promise of another chance to be of maximum benefit to those that come to him for treatment. He strives to extend to every patient the unconditional positive regard they deserve and prides himself on providing the highest quality of care in a professional and yet personal manner.
